Electro 2016 Exhibition: Symbol of Latest Achievements
The 25th Anniversary International Exhibition for Electrical Equipment, Lighting Engineering, and Building Automation Elektro 2016 opened at Expocentre Fairgrounds. It is held by Expocentre AO with support of the State Duma Committee on Science and High Technology and under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RF CCI).
The exhibition’s Organizing Committee this year is headed by First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and High Technology Vladimir Kononov. According to him, “the Elektro exhibition has become a symbol of the latest innovations and achievements in the sphere of the electro-technical industry, promoted putting into practice thousands of promising ideas, technology solutions, projects and today, in the new economic conditions, is rightfully considered the best industry show.”
At the exhibition opening ceremony, the parliamentarian also said that the positive advantage of Elektro 2016 is a direct dialogue between authorities and businesspeople, as well as participation of many international companies and the repute of Expocentre’s standing as Russia’s leading fairgrounds. Vladimir Kononov expressed confidence that “the Elektro 2016 exhibition will become a remarkable event and give a powerful impetus to the development of not only the industry, but also international relations in this sphere”.
Taking part in the current show in an area of 15 000 square meters are 310 players of the electro-technical market of 17 countries, displaying the latest achievements of the industry. Companies from Germany, Spain and China are represented by the national expositions.
The show’s 200 exhibitors are Russian enterprises and trade companies; 150 of them are home equipment manufacturers.
Expocentre, in order to support domestic producers and promote Russian products on the market, has for the second time organized the exposition “Made in Russia”. The project aims to promote an increase in the share of the domestically produced equipment on the market within the framework of implementing the state import substitution program.
The Elektro 2016 exhibition traditionally has a busy agenda. Comprehensive industry-specific forums, including the All-Russian Congress “Electrical Works 2016,” All-Russian Conference “Import Substitution in Lighting Technology” and other important events will be held.
The first open sectoral electrical works championship Young Professionals (WorldSkills Russia) will be held. It is organized by the WorldSkills Russia Union and IEK Group of Companies with Expocentre’s support. The championship is aimed at raising the prestige of blue-collar jobs and developing vocational education.
Director of the State Energy Policy Department of the Russian Energy Ministry Alexei Kulapin said at the Elektro 2016 opening ceremony that the Elektro 2016 exhibition is taking place very timely, when the discussion of a new version of the draft of Russia’s Energy Strategy worked out by the Energy Ministry is being discussed at all levels. According to him, the daft envisages new approaches to modernizing the electrical energy industry. “This will require new innovative solutions. I am sure that this exhibition will demonstrate equipment and, above all, home-grown technology that will ensure not only the country's energy security, but also a new quality of electrical energy consumption,” said the Energy Ministry official.
State Secretary, Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia Alexander Torshin said the Elektro 2016 exhibition is in high demand both with the Russian and foreign participants and guests.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Deputy Director of the RF CCI Department on work with associations of entrepreneurs Alexander Lomachenko, Vice President, Executive Director of the Interelectromash International Association Boris Malakhov, representative of the IEK Group of Companies, the organizer of the first open electrical works championship Young Professionals (WorldSkills Russia) Pyotr Nekrasov.
Elektro 2016 is held on June 6 to 9.
Next year, the Elektro 2017 exhibition will be held simultaneously with the international exhibition Neftegaz (Oil and Gas) 2017 in the period from April 17 to April 20, 2017.
