ELEKTRO-2007 – Top-Notch Forum in Electrical Engineering

18 / 06 / 2007

June 13-16, 2007, the show grounds of Expocentre Fairgrounds were engaged to support “Elektro-2007” – the 16th international exhibition of electrical equipment for power engineering, electrical engineering and electronics; energy and resource-saving technologies, and household electrical appliances.

The Exhibition was arranged by Expocentre Fairgrounds with a good deal of backing from the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Russian Federation, OAO “Standartelektro” and Mayer J. Group Exhibition Holding, with patronage being extended by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and Government of Moscow.

Over the past 35 years “Elektro” has been performing as the Largest Russian- and CIS-based exhibition covering the electrical engineering industry. Just to remind, it was in 1972 that “Elektro” appeared on the Expocentre Fairgrounds calendar of events, with annually staged affairs being kick-started in 1996.

Given its superior contribution to the industry development and top-level administration capacities, “Elektro” received the UFI (Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) and RUEF (Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs) awards.

This year the event was attended by more than 600 companies and organizations from the following 27 world countries: Armenia, Belarus, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy, the People’s Republic of China, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, Finland, France, Croatia, Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Estonia.

Government-backed national exhibit areas were maintained by Spain, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Poland, the People’s Republic of China, Taiwan, Republic of Mordovia.

Also, national achievements in electrical engineering were demonstrated by the following industry associations and Russian-based commercial offices: ZVEI – German Association of Electronics and Electrical Equipment Manufacturers; AFME – Spanish Association of Electrical Equipment Manufacturers; ICE – Italian embassy-affiliated commercial office; CCPIT – Subcommittee for Electronics, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the People’s Republic of China; TTC – Taiwanese Moscow-based commercial office;  commercial office, Polish-Russian Chamber of Commerce; CEA – Association of the Electrical Engineering Industry, Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Czech Republic.

Importantly, the Exhibition’s lofty international status primarily came from participation of such major global electrical engineering market-makers as Aling-Conel D.O.O. (Serbia), Beluk GmbH (Germany), Berker GmbH & Co.KG (Germany), CKD Elektrotechnika A.S. (Czech Republic), Gustav Hensel Gmbh & CO. KG, Legrand SNC (France), Lovato Electric Spa (Italy), Lumel SA (Poland), Nokian Capacitors Ltd (Finland), Orbis (Spain), Puk Werke KG (Germany), Rade Koncar Kontaktorei i Relei (Macedonia), Simon S.A. (Spain), VKT Trading Gmbh Industrieguterhandel GmbH (Germany), not to mention quite a few other high-visibility firms and organizations.

Domestic manufacturers and suppliers were represented by more than 350 exhibitors, some of those including: Samara-based ZAO “Elektroshchit Group”, OAO “Divnogorsk Nizkovoltnaya Apparatura”, OOO “Vesper Avtomatika”, ZAO “Dielectricheskiye Kabelniye Sistemy”, Moscow-based “Elektroenergetika”, Kolchugin-based “Elektrokabel”, OOO “Ensto Elektro”, OOO “SVR Group”, OOO “VSK Elektro”, just as many other major operations.

“Electro-2007” was featuring a footprint of more than 12,550 square meters. To point out, Pavilions 2 and 8 were integrated to offer a single exhibition space where experts and end-users could view and examine a host of best applications and new developments from the electrical engineering industry: suites for industrial uses, power-saving technologies and materials, next-generation power supply units, innovative projects and growth-capable solutions.

Understandably, the Exhibition’s superior quality standing for the most part came from the industry’s rapid expansion, just as new products and technologies made available on a large scale. The event was featuring the following new thematic salons: Electrical Equipment and Technologies; Cabling Products; Power Engineering Solutions; Energy Saving Technologies and Innovations.

A Business Center ws maintained to support networking activities and create the right environment for participants to take care of their more pressing business-related tasks.

An automated MatchMaking System, recently commissioned by Expocentre Fairgrounds, is certain to be in great demand. This high-tech facility enabled participants and visitors of “Elektro-2007” to call up and view the list of registered exhibitors, fix business appointments and quickly plan for assorted other tasks in the days of the Exhibition.

To add, the Exhibition’s business-support program included a large sequence of conferences, round-tables, workshops and other functions primarily designed to help participants and prospective buyers exchange ideas, swap experiences and talk business.
