Elektro International Exhibition, showcasing Russian and international achievements in electric engineering, opened its doors to the visitors at Expocentre Fairgrounds

On 8 June, 2009, the 18th Elektro International Exhibition, showcasing Russian and international achievements in electric engineering, opened its doors to the visitors at Expocentre Fairgrounds.

Nearly 450 exhibitors from 26 countries are putting on display modern electrical equipment, advanced energy-efficient technology and materials, next-generation power plants, innovations and projects essential for the development of the Russian economy. Among the exhibitors are 240 Russian leading companies demonstrating the potential of the Russian electrical engineering industry.

Elektro’2009 is attended by the leaders of the global electrical engineering market. The industry associations of Spain, Germany, Italy, China and Korea, the Polish-Russian Chamber of Trade, the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, and MO Interelectro and MA Interelektromach representing Russia are participating in the exhibition with their national displays.

Over nearly forty years, the Elektro International Exhibition has been a major event for the global electrical engineering market. Its high reputation is confirmed by the labels of UFI – the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry and RUEF – the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs. Electrical engineering is one of the high-technology sectors that is driving the development of the whole industry. As an event demonstrating the latest achievements in electrical engineering the Elektro exhibition plays an important role in promoting cutting edge technology to the Russian market and makes a significant contribution to building the innovative economy in Russia.

With a wide range of topics to be discussed at the exhibition and a large number of international companies exhibiting, specialists will be able to get a comprehensive idea of the current state of the global electrical engineering industry and of the prospects for the development of the Russian electrical engineering market.

Prospects and challenges of the industry development will be discussed at the seminars, round tables and other events on the substantial scientific programme of the exhibition. Specialists are welcome to take part in the 4th International Workshop on Renewable Generation and Microgeneration, in the International Symposium on Energy Efficiency: Technology and Standardization, in the workshop on Electric Drive and Power Electronics, in the seminar addressing issues of control of power quality, and in the conference discussing the Federal Law ‘Technical Regulations on Fire Safety Requirements’. The Elektro’2009 Exhibition incorporates a contest for the Best Enterprise of the 21st Century Award. This contest will select the most innovative companies.
