Press Release Elektro’2013 International Exhibition

June 17-20, 2013, Expocentre Fairgrounds hosted the Elektro’2013 International Exhibition. It was the 22nd edition of this largest in Russia and the CIS show of electrical equipment for power and electric engineering, automation and industrial lighting. It was organized by Expocentre ZAO and run under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Moscow City Government.

Elektro carries the labels of UFI – the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, and RUEF – the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs.

Exposition

For four days the area of 9 283 sq m accommodated the latest trends of the electric industry: electrical equipment for various branches of economy, advanced energy saving technologies, new materials, new generation power plants, innovative projects and developments.  

The exhibition welcomed 458 exhibitors from 25 countries. China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia and Spain had their national pavilions, as did India. Support was provided by the Industry and Trade Ministry of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Economy and Construction of the Slovak Republic, ASSOCHAM – the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, CCPIT – the China Council for the Promotion of Trade of the China, AFME – the Association of Electrical Supplies Manufacturers (Spain), ZVEI – the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association.

This year Elektro introduced two new sectors. Together with traditional themes such as Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Cables. Conductors. Fittings, Power Saving and Innovations, the event management brought in Industrial Lighting, to support the skyrocketing Russian market of lighting engineering, and Building Automation, to showcase the latest products, which increase energy efficiency of commercial types of buildings.   

Participants included such globally known companies as ABB, C&S Electric, EAE Elektrik, Finder, Klemsan, Legrand, Lovato Electric, Minsk Electrotechnical Plant named after V.I. Kozlov, Klinkmann, OBO Bettermann, Phoenix Contact, Puk-Werke KG, Rittal, RPS Riello, Wago Contact, Pentair, Vergokan, and others.  

ElektroPark helped developers of electrical products to promote their ideas. Over 50 companies showcased their latest developments.  

Elektro’2013 also introduced a new project called Expocentre For Counterfeit-Free Exhibitions. It aims to combat demonstration of counterfeit products at exhibitions. Both exhibitors and visitors could receive prompt professional consultations on various IP issues including IP protection and enforcement at exhibitions.

10 400 professional visitors attended Elektro’2013. The total number of visits was 18 660.

Event schedule

The exhibition was accompanied by many additional events, workshops, conferences and competitions.   

The 10th International Conference on Renewable and Small-Power Energy was devoted to the use of renewable energy sources.

Elektro’2013 included a special day Smart City: Russia organized by DKE – German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies of DIN and VDE, and Rosstandart (Russia) with assistance of Expocentre ZAO.  

The official representatives of German PPC AG and Siemens in Russia proposed a phased introduction of intelligent control systems. They believe that Smart City is a new era of our civilization, which will make people’s life more comfortable.

The next edition of the Elektro International Exhibition will run from May 26-29, 2014 at Moscow’s Expocentre Fairgrounds.
