Elektro 2014 gave a new impetus to the industry

On May 29, the 23rd International Exhibition for Electrical Equipment for Power and Electrical Engineering, Automation and Lighting Engineering in Expocentre – Elektro 2014 – came to an end.  The exposition space of 28,000 sq m accommodated showcases of 430  companies from 21 countries, including 215 Russian companies from all over the country, and national pavilions of Belgium, China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia and Spain. The exhibitors demonstrated the latest accomplishments of the electric and power industries. 

The exhibition is organized by Expocentre ZAO with support from the Russian Ministry of Energy and the Moscow City Government, and auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. For the first time the organizing committee was headed by Aleksander Torshin, the First Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Federation of the Russian Federal Assembly.  
The exhibition salons – Electrical Engineering; Power Engineering; Cables. Conductors. Fittings; Power Saving and Innovations; Lighting Engineering; and Building Automation showcased the whole range of products and services satisfying the interests and demands of all participants of the electric market, e.g. power engineers, manufacturers and consumers of electrical products and cables.  
The events held as part of the exhibition gave plenty of opportunities to discuss business and relevant problems. They included the Marketing Club of Electrical Engineering Companies; the 11th International Conference on Renewable and Small-Power Energy; the 2nd International Forum SMART CITY 2014 – Building Automation for Energy Saving, Comfort and Safety; Lumen. Commercial Lighting Engineering  Conference; the 2nd Russian Business Forum on Electrical Engineering. Business Strategy 2014; workshops and presentations.
During Elektro 2014 Russian Grids OAO and Expocentre ZAO signed an agreement to hold major electric congress and exhibition – the RUGRID-ELECTRO International Energy Forum – in Moscow in October of 2014.   

Leading international and Russian electric and power companies are invited to take part in the forum, which will include an international trade show and many other accompanying events.
